About C&H Cafeteria
Fast food didn't have to mean processed food — that idea is where C&H Cafeteria started, and it's still what drives our kitchens in Kernersville and Durham today.
Scratch Cooking Before It Was a Trend
C&H Cafeteria didn't start as a big restaurant chain with a marketing plan — it started with a simple idea: fast food didn't have to mean processed food. Long before "farm to table" became a trend, our kitchens in Kernersville and Durham were already doing it the old-fashioned way, cooking from scratch, every single day.
Walk into either location around 11:00 AM and you'll find our kitchen staff finishing what they started hours earlier — chopping vegetables, seasoning meats, and pulling fresh bread and desserts out of the oven. Nothing sits in a freezer waiting to be reheated. Our menu changes regularly because we cook with what's fresh, not what's convenient to stock in bulk.
Small Details That Matter
We're proud that we never use MSG, and pork stock rarely makes an appearance in our vegetables — a small detail, but one that matters to the families, coworkers on lunch break, and regulars who've been coming to us for years. Whether it's a quick weekday lunch, a relaxed dinner with family, or a large catering order for a community event, we treat every plate the same way: made fresh, made well.
We think of C&H Cafeteria as a neighborhood cafeteria in the truest sense: a place where the food tastes homemade because it is, where the staff know their regulars, and where you can bring your whole family without checking your wallet twice. That's the kind of "fast food" we believe in.
